The Role
As an AVEVA PI Engineer, you will be a key member of a multidisciplinary support team, responsible for ensuring continuous production by monitoring the PI system at manufacturing sites.
Responsibilities
- Support site vertical integration as defined by the Project Manager or Lead Engineer.
- Create and update configuration and validation documents related to the PI system.
- Execute validations as outlined in the change control process.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency through data quality control measures and monitoring processes.
- Collaborate with the Automation Infra team to manage system upgrades, patches, and performance optimizations for the OSIsoft PI system.
- Address tickets or issues related to the PI system.
- Maintain the PI system to ensure 24/7 availability.
- Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements in data engineering and manufacturing systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data management processes, system performance, and user experience.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in IT, Automation, Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with the OSIsoft PI system, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, including batch processing and equipment automation.
- Proficiency in data engineering concepts, data integration, and management best practices.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment.
- Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL) and scripting is advantageous.
- Experience with ticketing systems like Service Now or similar.
