Our partner is seeking a Backend Software Engineer (Enterprise Experience) based in the Netherlands. This role is centered on developing backend capabilities that enable large organizations to manage complex developer infrastructure confidently and reliably. You will be part of a cross-functional engineering team responsible for enhancing the administrator and operator experience, covering scalability, upgrades, observability, security, and auditability. The position involves hands-on Go development alongside database engineering, distributed systems, performance optimization, and production support. You will take ownership of features from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing operation. Collaborating closely with product, design, platform, and QA colleagues, you will address real-world enterprise challenges, contributing to a modern cloud-native platform while solving technically demanding problems at scale.

Verantwoordelijkheden

•

Develop and deploy backend features from start to finish, contributing to technical design, implementation, testing, production rollout, and continuous improvement.

•

Design and execute database migrations, ensuring schema compatibility, reliability, and safe upgrades.

•

Create observability, reporting, and audit features that provide administrators with clear visibility into deployments and system activities.

•

Build and maintain security-focused backend features aligned with established enterprise security practices.

•

Identify and resolve scalability and performance bottlenecks under production-like workloads, focusing on database access patterns and concurrency within backend services.

•

Troubleshoot and fix backend issues reported by platform operators and enterprise administrators.

•

Clearly document technical solutions and implementation decisions for maintainability by reviewers and future engineers.

•

Actively participate in code reviews and technical design discussions in an RFC style.

•

Contribute to the engineering on-call rotation to maintain reliable production systems.

•

Collaborate with backend, platform, QA, product, and design teams to enhance the operator experience.

•

Continuously improve the platform's reliability, scalability, security, and operational usability.

Vereisten

•

2+ years of professional software engineering experience.

•

Proven experience in developing and shipping production software using Go.

•

Strong understanding of Go's concurrency model, including goroutines, channels, and the sync package.

•

Proficient with SQL, relational databases, schema changes, and database migrations.

•

Excellent debugging and analytical skills, with a strong commitment to investigating complex technical issues and knowing when to escalate.

•

Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of identifying blockers, risks, and uncertainties early.

•

Self-motivated and comfortable taking ownership of technically challenging tasks.

•

Experience with observability, audit, or security features in an enterprise software environment is a plus.

•

Familiarity with performance investigation under real-world or production-like workloads, including race conditions, is advantageous.

•

Knowledge of major cloud providers, Kubernetes, and container orchestration is desirable.

•

Experience with building or operating distributed systems at scale is beneficial.

•

Curiosity about modern developer tooling and emerging software development approaches.

•

Familiarity with technologies such as PostgreSQL, gRPC, Prometheus, Grafana, and GitHub Actions is an advantage.
