The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and HVAC systems in the world. Facility Technicians at Google data centers operate, monitor, and support physical facilities conditions. Duties include managing heating and cooling systems, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution, and control systems. You'll assist in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various data center systems, providing daily support to senior technicians by reading blueprints, conducting system tours, and assessing operational conditions.

Responsibilities:

•

Own campus operational budgets, conduct meticulous expense forecasting, and manage established budgets with a focus on total cost of ownership (TCO). Develop and implement cost-effective operational strategies.

•

Meet stringent internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for uptime, efficiencies, and cost. Oversee monitoring of data center systems, control site activities to minimize risk, and ensure effective response to any operational excursions.

•

Develop creative approaches to reduce operational costs and improve overall data center efficiency. Advocate for strategies to minimize environmental impact (WUE, PUE).

•

Oversee the swift management of data center performance issues and outages, implementing repair protocols in emergency situations to minimize recovery time from failures.

•

Ensure regional and global teams comply with project guidelines and design standards. Drive and uphold a strong safety culture at the site, identifying and mitigating risks.

Requirements:

•

8 years of experience in data center operations or relevant operational experience in non-DC industries.

•

5 years of experience managing technical teams and vendors responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and controls infrastructure and components.

•

Fluency in English and Dutch to support client relationship management in this region.

•

Ability to travel as needed.

•

Driving license Category B.
