The Role

We are looking for a Food & Beverage Director to contribute to the opening of our Mama Shelter in Amsterdam. You will manage the catering department, which includes a main restaurant, bar, terrace, and rooftop bar. Your responsibilities include developing profitability for each outlet, collaborating with the Executive Chef on menu engineering, and overseeing staff recruitment and management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the catering department, ensuring profitability across four outlets.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development and pricing.
• Recruit, supervise, and coordinate restaurant staff.
• Ensure compliance with legal regulations.
• Guarantee a perfect customer experience at all times.

Requirements

• Natural and effective leadership skills.
• Ability to identify and develop talent.
• Strong management skills with expertise in cost control and productivity optimization.
• Sales acumen without aggressive tactics.
• Proficiency in data analysis and presentation tools like PowerPoint and Excel.
• Strong relationships with suppliers and service providers.
• Willingness to be hands-on and lead by example.
• Culinary knowledge beyond basic cooking.
