Full Stack Developer | Utrecht (Hybrid, 3 days in the office) Our client is a fast-scaling HR-tech startup in Utrecht, dedicated to transforming how organizations foster employee growth. Since its inception in 2019, they have developed a modern SaaS platform utilized by hundreds of businesses, ranging from scale-ups to established corporates, and their international team continues to grow to meet demand.

The Role

In this full stack position, you will engage with the entire platform, from crafting intuitive user interfaces in React to developing scalable APIs and backend services in Node.js. You will closely collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to translate ideas into valuable features for customers, with a clear pathway toward a senior full stack or team lead role.

Responsibilities

• Shape and develop new features in collaboration with product and design teams.
• Participate in structured weekly sprints with your team.
• Write clean, maintainable code using TypeScript, React, Node.js, and MongoDB.
• Build and enhance performant, secure REST APIs.
• Contribute to technical discussions and make architectural decisions.
• Review pull requests and work together to maintain high quality.
• Improve developer workflows, CI/CD processes, and automated testing.
• Take ownership of features from concept to deployment.

Requirements

• Approximately 3+ years of experience as a full stack developer, proficient with the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js).
• Strong focus on user experience for both frontend and backend.
• Enjoys collaboration, providing and receiving feedback, and learning with a team.
• Proactive and solution-oriented, always seeking improvement opportunities.
• Ambitious about advancing to a lead developer position over time.
• Curious, eager to learn, and genuinely interested in building a product that facilitates growth at work.
• Must reside in the Netherlands and be able to work from the Utrecht office at least 3 days a week.
