We are seeking a Global Agriculture Intern to join our EMENA (Europe, Middle East & North Africa) Agriculture team, based in the Netherlands (Amsterdam or Lewedorp). This internship will support our Regenerative Agriculture & Decarbonization initiatives, contributing to McCain's commitment to advancing sustainable practices across its value chain.

The Role

In this internship, you will assist in the decarbonization of McCain's European potato supply chain by analyzing agronomic data from growers, identifying opportunities for improved regenerative practices, and providing technical insights to local Agriculture teams. A significant aspect of this role involves understanding potato cultivation and interpreting data related to crop management.

Responsibilities

• Collect, structure, and validate grower practice data, including fertilization, crop protection products, tillage, irrigation, cover crops, and crop rotations.
• Ensure data quality by standardizing formats, cleaning datasets, and maintaining a data dictionary.
• Analyze farming practices and calculate sustainability indicators, such as greenhouse gas emissions and nitrogen use efficiency.
• Support the deployment of our digital platform in France and Poland, including user onboarding and local configuration.
• Maintain and enhance Power BI dashboards for monitoring carbon footprint and regenerative agriculture KPIs.
• Conduct user testing and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
• Analyze the impact of agricultural practices on carbon emissions and farm performance.
• Develop communication materials, including technical guides and success stories for growers.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices among Agriculture teams and potato growers across Europe.

Requirements

• Currently studying Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, Plant Sciences, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity with agronomic concepts such as fertilization and crop protection.
• Strong analytical skills and interest in agricultural datasets.
• Ability to travel to the Amsterdam Schiphol Office at least 4 times a week.
