We are seeking an experienced Head of Accounting & Tax to oversee our financial reporting, audit, tax, and consolidation functions. Collaborating with the Head of Treasury and Head of Corporate Finance, you will manage global accounting across MODIFI’s various group companies, leading an internal team and coordinating with external service providers for bookkeeping, accounting, tax, and audit partnerships.

The Role

•

**Hands-On Group Accounting & IFRS Consolidation**: Own the execution, preparation, and closing of standalone and consolidated financial statements under IFRS for all MODIFI subsidiaries and a refinance-SPV in Luxembourg.

•

**Audit & External Service Management**: Lead group-wide external audits and manage local accounting and tax service providers in the Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg, India, China, and UAE.

•

**Operational Execution & Team Leadership**: Perform, review, and QA monthly bookkeeping, general ledger entries, and board reports while mentoring your team.

•

**Tax Compliance & Quality Assurance**: Ensure quality assurance on all tax filings, global planning, corporate income tax, VAT/GST, and payroll tax compliance.

•

**Internal Controls & Process Standardization**: Establish internal financial controls and standard operating procedures to minimize errors.

•

**AI Mastery & Automation**: Implement modern AI tools and tech-driven workflows to enhance bookkeeping and financial reporting processes.

•

**Direct Executive Reporting**: Foster strong relationships with executive leadership, delivering accurate financial outputs directly to C-level stakeholders.

Requirements

•

5+ years of finance/accounting experience, with at least 3+ years in a team management role.

•

Big 4 background with 4+ years at a top-tier audit firm (Manager/Senior Manager level).

•

Expertise in IFRS reporting, multi-entity/multi-currency consolidations, and audit management, along with proficiency in AI/automation tools.

•

Strong attention to detail and a hands-on approach to accounting tasks.

•

Ideally holds CPA, ACCA, ACA, or local equivalent certification (e.g., Wirtschaftsprüfer / Steuerberater).

•

Fluent in English with the ability to communicate effectively with executive stakeholders.
