The Role

We are expanding our branding and storytelling capabilities and are looking for a Head of Communications to join our team in Amsterdam. As a strategic and hands-on leader at the intersection of technical engineering, investor relations, and public media, you will play a pivotal role in translating complex breakthrough technology into a clear, captivating market narrative. You will take full ownership of Ore Energy’s public identity and voice, collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders to define our communication strategy, spearhead media relations, and build our presence across Europe. This is a hands-on, execution-heavy leadership role in a fast-paced startup environment that requires a structured writer and content creator comfortable navigating ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Narrative Ownership & Storytelling: Own, develop, and optimize Ore Energy's external narrative, turning deep tech and complex engineering data into compelling stories for investors, talent, and industry leaders.
• Methodology & Channels Creation: Drive the development of our communications infrastructure, standardizing public-facing copy and external PR execution methodologies.
• Discipline Leadership: Act as the strategic voice for company branding, fostering a culture of effective communication across all departments.
• Design & Delivery: Create high-impact communication campaigns across multiple channels (including LinkedIn, press releases, media kits, and our public website) to position Ore Energy as a market leader.
• Executive Visibility & Thought Leadership: Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to ghostwrite technical thought-leadership pieces and manage speaking engagements.
• Media, Supplier & Event Management: Lead media outreach strategies, build relationships with European journalists, and oversee company events, acting as a spokesperson when needed.
• Collaboration with Public Policy & Government Relations: Align communication efforts with regulatory priorities, developing materials to support policy advocacy initiatives.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
• Experience: 7-10 years in communications, PR, or journalism roles, ideally within advanced technology or startup environments.
• Project Delivery: Proven track record of leading communication projects and managing a company’s public identity from strategy to execution.
• Methodological Expertise: Strong foundation in creating communication frameworks and utilizing tools to measure brand impact.
• Vendor, Media & Event Management: Experience in managing media relations and coordinating corporate events.
• Mindset: Flawless English writer, collaborative mentor, and proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
