About the Company

The Role

You will be part of the NATO Communication and Information Agency (NCIA), which is crucial for providing secure and effective IT services to NATO member countries and partners. Your role will involve maintaining and operating the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) services.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and maintenance of NISC IaaS Services.
• Assist Senior Technicians, Engineers, and NISC IaaS SDMs in design, engineering, implementation, and integration of Infrastructure Hosting Services.
• Administer and maintain virtual infrastructure.
• Perform system administration for assigned systems.
• Support installation and management of common user services over NATO networks.
• Monitor and conduct daily checks of data center hardware and equipment.
• Timely replacement of failing parts.
• Ensure physical security for IaaS data centers.
• Follow change management processes and update network topology diagrams.
• Troubleshoot data center issues and assist in timely resolutions.
• Maintain records of work operations and events.
• Advise and support IaaS SAO and SDMs on lifecycle aspects of services and projects.
• Maintain close coordination with IaaS management.
• Monitor compliance with SLAs.
• Support development of processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for IaaS services.
• Identify operational problems and contribute to their resolution.
• Perform ad hoc tasks related to NISC SL's responsibilities.
• Other duties as required, including scheduled maintenance outside regular hours.
• Possible travel to operational centers in Mons, Brussels, and Lago Patria.

Requirements

• Master of Science (MSc) degree in a related field with 5 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor of Science (BSc) with 7 years of experience.
• Practical experience in DataCenter operations, technologies, and standards, including virtualization and backup solutions.
• Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere 7 and above, and data center management.
• Knowledge of VCF software and SAN/NAS network fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Windows Server, Linux RedHat, and ITIL processes.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to respond to issues after hours.
• Relevant certifications (CompTIA ServerPlus, CompTIA Network, CCNA) are advantageous.

Nice to Have

• Training and certification in virtualization (e.g., VCP).
• Experience in a service provisioning organization.
• Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization.
