Splunk is looking for a talented technologist to join the Office of the Field CTO as a founding Innovation Engineer. This impactful role involves collaborating with various teams to translate cutting-edge innovations in security, observability, and AI into actionable narratives for our enterprise customers.

The Role

In this position, you will support Splunk's strategic enterprise clients in understanding how advancements in technology will transform their organizations. You will work closely with Field CTOs, AI Solutions Architects, and senior specialists to create consistent and credible content that communicates our innovation story.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to align on Splunk’s innovation direction and represent field intelligence in roadmap discussions.
• Develop compelling narratives and proof-of-value artifacts that can be utilized by Field CTOs and GSO specialists.
• Demonstrate Splunk’s core platform and AI capabilities in various use cases, reinforcing our competitive edge.
• Utilize AI tools for efficient content production, ensuring quality and compliance in all customer-facing materials.
• Create executive-grade experiences in partnership with Technical Marketing for various Cisco and Splunk events.
• Act as a strategic advisor to Cisco Innovation Labs, ensuring Splunk's representation in multi-product demonstrations.
• Produce public-source innovation briefings that can be cited by the GSO to facilitate customer adoption.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise security, observability, or large-scale data platforms, with at least 3 years in a customer-facing technical role.
• Proven ability to create working artifacts, reference architectures, and executive narratives.
• Proficiency in using AI workflows for content production and research.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Nice to Have

• Deep technical expertise in Splunk’s platform and AI capabilities, particularly in security and observability.
• Experience in building workflows for SOC or resilience operations aligned with Splunk’s direction.
• Familiarity with Cisco’s security and networking products.
• Experience as a technical storyteller at industry events like Cisco Live or .conf.
