We are looking for an IT Support Intern to join our team in Amsterdam for a period of 6-9 months. This internship offers a unique opportunity to engage with various tasks and disciplines within a vibrant IT service desk in an international setting. The successful intern will be guided by the manager and senior team members, receiving training on daily IT support topics.

The Role

You will be responsible for providing first-line support for IT and Facilities systems, handling incoming requests via phone and email to ensure timely resolution of user issues. Your duties will include:

• Documenting the service desk request process, including decisions and actions taken.
• Managing IT hardware in line with company policies.
• Maintaining an inventory of IT equipment.
• Liaising with third-party support and vendors.
• Acting as an escalation point for intermediate help requests.
• Prioritizing and scheduling problems, escalating as necessary.
• Accessing software updates and resources for problem resolution.
• Performing hands-on fixes, including software installation and hardware upgrades.
• Supporting the corporate VoIP phone system and mobile telecom users.
• Conducting preventative maintenance on workstations and peripherals.
• Testing fixes and following up with Level I Technicians as needed.

Requirements

• Technical mindset with an interest in pursuing a career in IT.
• Currently enrolled in a vocational IT course in the Netherlands.
• Ability to work onsite in Amsterdam.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
