Your mission is to lead the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of MEAL strategies and frameworks, ensuring they align with organizational priorities and accountability commitments. You will support results-based planning and strategic program design, integrating Quality-of-Care indicators within the War Child Alliance. Additionally, you will oversee the technical quality assurance of MEAL systems, strengthen organizational learning, and build MEAL capacity across teams and partners.

The War Child Alliance is an international NGO dedicated to providing psychosocial support, child protection, and quality education to children affected by armed conflict. We operate in various countries, including Afghanistan, Colombia, and Ukraine, and have offices in the Netherlands and the UK.

The Role

You will lead the operationalization of the MEAL localization agenda and contribute to the development of the organizational MEAL strategy. This includes managing MEAL Coordinators and ensuring the effectiveness of the MEAL function across contexts. Your role involves providing leadership on Humanitarian MEAL, ensuring timely and adaptive approaches, and supporting accountability mechanisms that engage affected populations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement organizational MEAL strategies and frameworks.
• Support results-based planning and the development of theories of change.
• Integrate Quality-of-Care indicators across the War Child Alliance.
• Onboard partners on MEAL systems and provide technical support.
• Oversee technical quality assurance of MEAL processes and data.
• Strengthen organizational learning through evidence consolidation.
• Build MEAL capacity through guidance, training, and mentoring.
• Lead the operationalization of the MEAL localization agenda.
• Contribute to the organizational MEAL strategy development.
• Manage MEAL Coordinators and ensure coherence across contexts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Social Sciences, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in MEAL roles within humanitarian or conflict-affected contexts.
• Proven experience in designing and institutionalizing MEAL systems.
• Strong technical advisory support experience to country teams.
• Proficient in developing training tools and methodologies.
• Fluent in English; additional languages like Arabic or French are a plus.
