Fiducial is a rapidly growing deep-tech start-up focused on autonomy, perception, and defence. Our expertise lies in 3D vision and graphics technologies for both inspection and defence applications. We are developing software for advanced UAV situational awareness in military contexts, aiming to enhance European safety with low-cost, widely available sensors. The Role

As a Forward Deployed System Integration Engineer - L2 (UAV Robotics), you will play a crucial role in implementing our autonomy solutions. You will work directly with drone hardware, integrating systems and deploying software on various UAV platforms, from agile FPV drones to large fixed-wing aircraft. This position suits someone who enjoys hands-on work, thrives in the field, and excels at practical engineering, Linux skills, and methodical testing. The L2 level indicates your alignment with the scope of responsibilities and provides a clear progression path within our engineering track.

Responsibilities

•

Be a key member of the deployment team, responsible for implementing autonomy solutions across diverse UAV platforms.

•

Work hands-on with UAV hardware: assemble, wire, debug, and prepare platforms for field deployment.

•

Travel to partner sites, including international locations, to ensure solutions function reliably in real-world conditions.

•

Integrate and test full-stack autonomy solutions on partner platforms in collaboration with partner engineering teams.

•

Provide structured feedback to the product development team based on field tests and operational flights.

•

Improve interfaces between autonomy algorithms and flight controllers to enhance deployment pipelines.

Requirements

•

Strong proficiency in a fully terminal-based Linux environment, including shell scripting for automation and deployment tasks.

•

Solid understanding of UAV components and hardware, with hands-on experience in building, flying, and debugging drones.

•

Proven experience with drone flight controllers such as Ardupilot or Betaflight.

•

Willingness to learn new concepts quickly and adapt under pressure.

•

High autonomy, determination, and ownership in your work.

•

Comfortable with regular travel within the EU (up to 1 week at a time, up to 2 weeks per month).

•

Full-time availability (40 hours).

Nice to Have

•

Passion for drones.

•

Experience in Python or C++ development.

•

Valid driver’s license (Category B).

•

Drone pilot license or willingness to obtain one upon joining.
