The Role
Under the direction of the Section Head EMTS, the incumbent will perform duties such as:
•
Organizing, leading, planning, directing, controlling, and coordinating all work aspects related to the TEMPEST level testing program.
•
Directing and guiding all installation, modification, certification, and maintenance of the TEMPEST testing facility.
•
Performing TEMPEST level testing to the SDIP 27 standards of COTS data processing equipment used for processing information classified NATO CONFIDENTIAL and above.
•
Providing technical subject matter expertise to all aspects of TEMPEST Level testing.
•
Executing tests and evaluating Electric Radiation (ER) signals for Compromising Emanations (CE) to allocate the appropriate SDIP 27 TEMPEST Level B or C rating.
•
Conducting investigations to detect CE that may disclose classified information on communication and information system equipment.
•
Performing acceptance testing of TEMPEST equipment certified by NATO authorized vendors to confirm compliance with the allocated SDIP 27 TEMPEST level rating.
•
Ensuring familiarity with relevant SDIP's and Agency Directives.
•
Managing assigned technical tasks efficiently to meet target dates.
•
Providing technical and logistical advice to senior management and initiating necessary actions to meet maintenance and project targets.
•
Creating test plans and methods to optimize testing configurations for analysis.
•
Developing new measurement techniques for testing the latest COTS equipment.
•
Ensuring the TEMPEST cell test equipment is operational, calibrated, and capable of performing measurements, and keeping documentation up-to-date.
•
Assisting in scheduling and tracking CSSC activities in support of operations, exercises, and projects.
•
Establishing and performing quality control inspections within the TEMPEST sub-section.
•
Investigating possibilities for new equipment, methods, and training for submission to the Section Head EMTS.
•
Reporting TEMPEST results and maintaining a database of test certificates and measurement results.
•
Demonstrating work-related functions within the area of expertise and providing familiarization to less experienced technicians.
•
Deputizing for higher-grade staff as required.
•
Representing the CSSC in NATO TEMPEST Symposiums, Steering Groups/Boards, and Conferences, liaising with other NCI Agency entities and customers.
•
Performing mandatory electrical safety inspections for compliance.
•
Shift work is required to support key projects.
