Our international team of scientists drives innovations to revolutionize the leather industry. We are seeking a motivated Junior Research Associate to join our Cell Biology team in Maastricht.
The Role
As a Junior Research Associate focused on Cell Banking, you will work within a multidisciplinary team to establish, expand, and characterize cell banks for biomanufacturing and cell biology workflows. You will be involved in either cell bank generation and quality testing (including cryopreservation, viability, recovery assays, and sterility testing) or scalable systems for cell banking (adapting protocols for larger volumes). This hands-on laboratory position offers the opportunity to: Junior-level candidates will support cell bank production runs, perform routine QC assays, and maintain organized records and sample inventories while building technical independence. Associate-level candidates will take on greater responsibilities in protocol development and troubleshooting.

Develop a solid foundation in cryopreservation science, cell culture, and quality control testing for cell banks.

Apply experimental results to research questions and develop robust, reproducible banking procedures.

Collaborate with team members across cell biology, tissue engineering, and bioprocessing to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Periodically check on cell bank performance.
