The Role

As a Mechanical Procurement Engineer at IntoMachines, you will manage the complete procurement process for custom motors, sensors, and parts, from RFQ to delivery. Key responsibilities include interpreting 2D drawings, communicating specifications to suppliers, and ensuring compliance with these requirements. You will oversee materials planning and manage our custom build MRP system, maintaining an up-to-date view of orders, stock, and work in progress. Additionally, you will negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times, while building a reliable supplier base that enhances delivery performance. This role requires strategic thinking to determine stock levels for critical components and collaboration with Quality on inspections of incoming goods. You will play a crucial role in shaping the systems and protocols that will help IntoMachines scale as a leader in automated bolting solutions.

Responsibilities

•

Manage end-to-end procurement of custom motors, sensors, and parts.

•

Interpret 2D drawings and ensure supplier compliance with specifications.

•

Run materials planning and manage the custom MRP system.

•

Negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times with suppliers.

•

Develop a supplier base that enhances reliability and delivery speed.

•

Determine strategic stock levels for high-risk machined parts.

•

Collaborate with Quality on incoming goods inspections.

•

Plan for 3-6 months ahead and build systems for scalability.

Requirements

•

2+ years of experience in supply chain management for machined and standard parts.

•

Strong negotiation skills for pricing, terms, and lead times.

•

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

•

Proficient in reading and interpreting 2D/3D drawings (tolerances, GD&T, materials).

•

Knowledge of manufacturing processes (milling, vacuum casting, etc.).

•

Experience with international suppliers and understanding of logistics and customs.

•

Familiarity with AI tools for automation and efficiency.

•

Hands-on builder mentality, focused on creating and improving systems.

•

High ownership and accountability for supply chain performance.

•

Detail-oriented yet pragmatic approach to problem-solving.

•

Ability to remain calm under pressure during delays and changes.

•

Willingness to work in a small, scaling team without hierarchical barriers.
