We focus on transforming the footwear industry through on-demand production of high-performance components made from natural materials, simplifying supply chains, reducing risks, and minimizing landfill waste. ## The Role We are seeking an R&D Lab Technician – Materials/Formulations to join our multidisciplinary team. You will be instrumental in developing and optimizing liquid natural rubber latex formulations for next-generation footwear production. Your responsibilities will include supporting the formulation, testing, and documentation of natural rubber latex compounds, translating lab-scale experimentation into scalable production-ready solutions. ## Responsibilities Include - Material Preparation & Lab Work: Prepare and handle raw materials for formulation trials under supervision. Mix and process formulations according to given protocols. Operate lab-scale equipment safely and correctly after training. - Testing, Observations & Tracking: Conduct basic mechanical, physical, or thermal tests on developed materials. Observe material behavior closely, noting visible or measurable changes (e.g., texture, consistency, reaction). Identify and communicate irregularities or unexpected results during processing or testing. - Documentation: Record all steps taken during formulation or testing with precision. Maintain detailed notes on quantities, conditions, outcomes, and any observed changes. Support data collection for further analysis and comparison. - Support Work: Help set up and clean equipment and spaces before and after use. Label and store samples clearly and properly. Assist in maintaining a safe and clean lab environment. Provide support during production runs. ## Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in material science, chemistry, or a related field. - 1+ years of hands-on experience in a laboratory or materials testing environment. - Knowledge of and/or working experience with natural latex rubber is highly valued. - Basic understanding of formulation techniques, material characterization, and process documentation. - Knowledge and respect for safety protocols and lab best practices. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. - Comfortable working in a fast-paced, experimental environment with evolving methods and processes. - Excellent time management skills. - Able to tackle problems independently. - Fluent in English. - Legally authorized to work in the Netherlands without sponsorship.
