About the Role: The Lead Knowledge Engineer position is integral to S&P Global's Enterprise Data Organization, a cross-divisional team dedicated to transforming data assets through advanced technologies. This role is based in Gdansk, Poland; Calgary, Canada; Mexico City, Mexico (hybrid: 2 days on-site); The Netherlands (virtual); or Argentina (virtual). The Team: The Knowledge Engineering team within Distribution & Data Platforms leads organizational change, focusing on linked data, open data, and data governance strategies. Collaborating closely with data and software engineering, the team aims to build the next generation of data architecture and tooling. Responsibilities: - Develop and enhance ontologies, taxonomies, knowledge graphs, and related semantic artifacts for interconnected data. - Design and prototype data/software engineering solutions for semantic artifact construction and maintenance. - Provide thought leadership for strategic projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met. - Influence the strategic semantic vision and next-generation architecture. - Execute the interconnected data vision by creating linked metadata schemes. - Analyze and implement knowledge organization strategies using metadata management tools. - Advocate for established semantics and knowledge-based tools within governance bodies. Qualifications: - Strong communication skills to convey complex technical strategies to diverse stakeholders. - 5+ years of experience with ontology development and semantic web technologies (RDF, RDFS, OWL, SPARQL). - 3+ years of experience in advanced data integration within complex environments. - Programming skills in Python, Java, or JavaScript, with cloud services experience a plus. - Understanding of the agile development lifecycle and data management disciplines.
