The Role
In this exciting position, you will be responsible for implementing EHS&S programs, training, and systems to comply with regional, national, and local regulations as well as company standards. Your focus will be on employee health and safety programs, including powered industrial trucks, warehouse safety, ergonomics, machine safeguarding, and environmental management.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic EHS&S leadership across Dutch distribution centers, serving as a technical expert and trusted advisor.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve EHS&S programs, policies, and management systems.
- Own and advance EHS&S risk programs, including ergonomics, warehouse safety, and sustainability initiatives.
- Drive a proactive EHS&S culture through visible leadership and employee engagement.
- Lead audits, inspections, and compliance reviews, ensuring effective corrective actions.
- Assess the EHS&S impact of new projects and guide leadership on risk mitigation.
- Establish and monitor EHS&S performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify threats to worker health and safety, recommending changes to reduce risk.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience in EHS&S, with 5+ years in a managerial role, or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of Dutch EHS&S regulations and experience in distribution centers.
- Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene, emergency response, and ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Management Systems is a plus.
