The Role

We are looking for a Principal Sales Engineer to join our team. This remote position, based in Amsterdam, reports to the Sales Engineering Director in the Solutions Consulting department. You will set the technical direction for marquee multi-region opportunities, partner with extended teams, and drive strategic outcomes for our most significant customers. You will pioneer new offerings, influence the product roadmap, and establish architecture standards while mentoring senior Sales Engineers and packaging field insights into roadmap proposals.

Responsibilities

• Accelerate deals through technical expertise and sales experience to win customer technical teams' trust.
• Drive enablement and solution development with customers and partners to create opportunities and close new business.
• Ensure that emerging solution areas are adapted to customer needs over the longer one- to two-year term.
• Engage stakeholders from the C-level down to the Head of Department, solving critical technical challenges at the individual practitioner level.
• Share joint ownership of sales forecasts with the regional leadership team.

Requirements

• More than 12 years of technical pre-sales experience, with at least 5 years in senior individual contributor or technical leadership roles.
• Deep experience with Zscaler and peer platforms, including network security, AI security, identity and access management, and EDR/XDR.
• Proven ability to navigate complex multinational organizational structures.
• Experience executing high-value and technically demanding Proof of Values (PoVs).
• Capability to collaborate with solution architects to resolve complex technical edge cases.

• Established thought leadership in emerging security paradigms like agentic AI security and post-quantum cryptography.
• A network of technical champions across the largest companies in Northern Europe.
• Multiple top-level industry certifications, such as Zscaler Architect, CCIE, CISSP, or advanced hyperscaler/cloud certifications.
