Our client is a significant contributor to the United Nations and is seeking a remote Ruby Developer for a 5-month contract beginning in August, with a possibility of extension.

The Role

As a Ruby Developer, you will be responsible for gathering and analyzing functional requirements, ensuring alignment with technical standards, and developing new web applications. You will also provide support for bug fixes and enhancements to existing applications, contribute to the integration of AI features, and maintain documentation.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze functional requirements from end-users and business analysts for new or enhanced production systems.
• Ensure technical work on solution design through development, testing, deployment, documentation, and ongoing maintenance aligns with the client's standards.
• Design and implement new Ruby on Rails web applications.
• Provide expertise and support for bug fixing and minor change requests for live applications.
• Continue iterative improvements of Ruby on Rails applications.
• Contribute to the design, development, and integration of AI-enabled features within enterprise applications, utilizing Large Language Model APIs and document processing workflows.
• Provide technical knowledge in engineering, release management, and maintenance of web-based applications.
• Update the IT Knowledge Base to ensure documentation is current and accessible.
• Perform additional support duties as required.

Requirements

• Excellent development skills in Ruby on Rails.
• Solid UNIX Systems Administration skills.
• Familiarity with container architecture such as Kubernetes.
• Experience in designing and debugging TCP/IP(v4) networks.
• Knowledge of Configuration Management.
• PostgreSQL 9.x administration skills.
• Understanding of GIT versioning systems.
• Proficiency in operating systems: Mac OSX, Linux, Windows.
