The Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities
- Designing and developing graph database solutions using Neo4j, AWS Neptune, or similar technologies.
- Building and optimizing graph queries using Cypher, SPARQL, or related query languages.
- Developing backend applications in Java or Kotlin.
- Designing data models for complex relationships and graph structures.
- Building and maintaining microservices and REST APIs.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions.
- Optimizing database performance and scalability.
- Supporting large-scale data pipelines and integrations.
- Participating in code reviews and maintaining technical documentation.
Requirements
- 8 to 15 years of software engineering experience.
- 9+ years of experience in Java or Kotlin backend development.
- Strong experience with Neo4j, AWS Neptune, or other graph database technologies.
- Expertise in Cypher, SPARQL, or graph query languages.
- Experience in building microservices architectures.
- Solid knowledge of REST APIs and backend integrations.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Must be based in the Netherlands or willing to relocate to Amsterdam.
