A5 Labs is looking for a strong product-minded full-stack engineer to help build consumer-facing gaming and entertainment products. We are not simply looking for someone who matches a list of technologies. We want an engineer with strong product instincts, good frontend taste, and the ability to turn ideas into polished products that users genuinely enjoy.

The Role

You will build and ship consumer-facing features across both the frontend and backend, owning features from product idea through architecture, implementation, testing, and production. You will create polished, responsive, and intuitive user experiences, work closely with product and design to enhance usability and interaction quality, build reliable APIs, business logic, and data models, and utilize modern AI development tools to accelerate your workflow without compromising quality.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship consumer-facing features across frontend and backend.
• Own features from product idea through architecture, implementation, testing, and production.
• Create polished, responsive, and intuitive user experiences.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to improve usability and interaction quality.
• Develop reliable APIs, business logic, and data models.
• Use modern AI development tools to enhance productivity without sacrificing quality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience.
• Strong experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Proficient in React.
• Solid skills in PostgreSQL and backend API design.
• Experience building real consumer-facing products.
• Strong understanding of frontend UX, performance, responsiveness, and accessibility.
• High ownership and the ability to ship independently.
• Comfortable using tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or GitHub Copilot.

Nice to Have

• A strong portfolio, personal products, open-source work, or technically unusual projects.
• Clear product taste and attention to frontend details.
• Experience with real-time products, payments, marketplaces, gaming, social products, or high-engagement applications.
• Evidence of building something from zero to one.
• A genuine interest in building, experimenting, and solving difficult problems.
• Poker or gaming experience is welcome, but not required.
