Job Overview: The Senior HSES Technician takes on various HSES assignments as needed and can work independently with limited supervision. They act as an informal resource for colleagues who have less HSES experience, offering solutions to problems in atypical or infrequent situations based on existing precedents or procedures.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

•

Serve as a resource to develop and manage a proactive prevention program for incidents.

•

Provide technical assistance to ensure compliance with relevant international, federal, state, and company environmental, safety, and health regulations.

•

Implement the HSES Activity plan and ensure that activities are completed on schedule.

•

Assist in preparing HSES Statistics Reports.

•

Conduct HSES inspections as directed.

•

Help prepare and maintain HSES information.

•

Regularly inspect work areas to identify unsafe acts or conditions.

•

Assist with incident investigations and compile reports.

•

Update and maintain the HSES database/platform.

•

Assist with medical evacuations and respond to emergencies as required.

•

Observe work groups and provide guidance and coaching to personnel to perform work safely.

•

Assist in delivering and observing toolbox talks and Job Safety Analyses.

•

Observe the condition of plant and equipment and report deficiencies.

Qualifications

Diploma or equivalent certification.

•

Three to four years of relevant experience.

•

Strong oral and written communication skills.

•

Familiarity with local and international HSES laws, codes, and regulations.

Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive team relationships.

•

Experience with technical activities.

•

Maintain key competencies associated with the HSES function.

•

Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken.
