We are seeking a motivated Senior Software Application Engineer to enhance Tesla's Application Support team. The ideal candidate will excel in building relationships with business users, resolving technical issues, and managing enterprise-level systems.
The Role
You will be responsible for understanding and owning the integration of Tesla's Software Application systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business operations, product owners, software engineers, quality assurance, and release teams, to manage cases from inception to deployment. Address tickets from globally distributed users, create immediate workarounds for urgent issues, and document troubleshooting guides. Investigate root causes of system defects to drive continuous improvement, focusing on uncovering edge cases and hidden dependencies for system resilience. Develop automation and monitoring processes to optimize Software Application systems and provide recommendations for performance enhancements based on industry best practices. Act as an incident commander during critical production calls that require coordination among various teams or external partners. Work independently within a globally distributed team and continually apply software best practices and emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Degree in an Engineering field or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of application support engineering experience in a globally distributed enterprise
- Understanding of microservice architecture, integrated systems, API concepts, and data integrations
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database management systems
- Experience with Python, Go, or other software development languages
- Application support experience with the OpenChargePointInterface (OCPI) framework
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and incident/defect management ticketing tools
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
