Our summer internship is tailored for a select group of high-potential students, blending structured training with practical experience.

Programme details

Location: Amsterdam Programme dates: 21st June – 20th August 2027 Application deadline: Tuesday 20th October 2026

Participate in a structured nine-week internship that provides a practical introduction to options market making. The program begins in our London office with three weeks of interactive options theory classes led by our traders. Following this, you will return to Amsterdam, engaging in trading simulations and mock trading to build your foundational skills. Additionally, you will gain insights into different desks through shadowing and project work.

Throughout the internship, your performance and development will be assessed. Successful interns may be considered for our Graduate Trader Programme the following year.

What you will be doing

Develop practical trading skills in our simulation environment, applying your learning to real market scenarios.

Utilize the same tools as our traders, or create your own, while observing live market trades.

•

Learn directly from traders across various desks through shadowing and regular interactions, with opportunities to ask questions about their daily practices.

•

Engage in a dedicated Reading Week, working independently on a project and exploring an area of interest.

How and what you will learn

Establish your foundations in options market making; no prior knowledge is required.

•

Enhance your understanding of options theory, pricing, probability, and risk with Maven’s in-house trainers.

•

Apply your knowledge through trading simulations, testing different strategies, and gaining confidence as a trader.

•

Broaden your understanding of the wider market through macroeconomic and technical training.

•

Progress through clear learning milestones, receiving ongoing feedback from the Trading and Emerging Talent teams.

Key criteria

•

A penultimate-year undergraduate or master’s student.

•

Strong numeracy skills and a solid understanding of probability and statistics.

•

A genuine interest in financial markets and a curiosity to learn.

•

A willingness to adopt and utilize emerging AI technologies.
