Your mission is to transform engineered systems into safe, reliable, and repeatable experimental operations. You will be responsible for the operational readiness and execution of THORIZON’s Pilot laboratories, while establishing consistent working practices across our various experimental locations.

About the Company

Thorizon is a European deep tech scale-up developing a new generation of small modular molten salt reactors aimed at providing clean and affordable energy. With offices in Amsterdam, Eindhoven, and Lyon, we focus on recycling long-lived nuclear waste as fuel and advancing a circular nuclear fuel cycle.

The Role

You will own the operational lifecycle of our Pilot systems, from engineering delivery through FAT, commissioning, site start-up, operation, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning. This includes:

•

Acting as project manager for engineering deliveries, ensuring compliance with THORIZON requirements.

•

Building the operating framework for our laboratories, including quality standards, procedures, and experimental protocols.

•

Developing and managing the operational team, including recruitment and qualification of internal and subcontracted operators.

•

Overseeing operational planning, budgets, and delivery to ensure experiments are conducted as scheduled and meet expected outcomes.

•

Ensuring safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance is integrated into daily operations.

•

Maintaining the reliability of our experimental program through necessary maintenance and operational measures.

•

Coordinating with external partners and suppliers to ensure clear expectations and delivery.

•

Reporting on progress, risks, deviations, decisions, and results to provide visibility to management and colleagues.
