We are looking for a freelance, full-time Technical Business Analyst to support the integration of manufacturing systems into our Industry 4.0 data ecosystem. This role focuses on understanding and documenting existing production processes and data sources, ensuring that relevant factory information can be reliably connected to modern data and analytics platforms.

The Role

As a highly analytical Business Analyst, you will serve as a key interface between business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors. Your role is to translate complex manufacturing needs into clear, actionable technical specifications, bridging the gap between machines, data, and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Process Optimization: Analyze, document, and enhance business and production processes in manufacturing and automotive sectors.
• Stakeholder Management: Facilitate interviews and workshops with business, operations, and IT to gather essential requirements.
• Requirements Engineering: Convert complex business needs into clear, structured business and functional requirements (BRDs, user stories, and decision papers).
• Strategic Support: Assist in defining target operating models, solution concepts, and process improvement initiatives.
• Documentation & Quality: Create high-quality process models and ensure alignment, consistency, and quality of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Risk & Impact: Identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities; contribute to business cases and impact assessments.
• Information Hygiene: Maintain project boards (Jira/Notion) to ensure all roadmaps and deliverables are public and accessible to the team.

Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years as a Business Analyst, preferably in manufacturing or automotive environments.
• Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of production, quality management, logistics, and supply chain processes.
• Methodology: Solid experience in requirements engineering and structured documentation.
• Mindset: Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a pragmatic, solution-focused approach.
• Communication: Confident in engaging with stakeholders across various functions and seniority levels.
• Languages: Professional proficiency in Mandarin and English (C1/Native).
• Independence: Proven ability to work independently in remote setups and manage priorities effectively.

Travel

• Ability to travel frequently to locations including China and Europe.
• Compliance: Valid passport and eligibility for rapid visa processing.
