The Role

We are looking for a deeply technical Technical Product Manager - Storage to oversee the vision, roadmap, and priorities for storage services in Nebius Cloud, which encompass block storage, file systems, object storage, and capabilities for AI/ML and HPC workloads. The successful candidate will manage backlogs for storage service teams and lead initiatives across the company related to storage.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the product backlog for storage service teams (block, file, parallel/HPC, and object storage).
• Lead cross-company initiatives involving storage, focusing on data durability, performance, capacity, and cost.
• Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to define product requirements, including data paths and performance characteristics.
• Make informed technical trade-offs on durability, availability, latency, throughput, and cost, supporting decisions with data.
• Partner with product marketing and technical teams on publications and customer engagement related to storage.
• Ensure delivery of storage services that meet high standards for durability, availability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in building cloud storage products is essential, with a background in senior engineering, architecture, or technical leadership roles at hyperscalers or advanced tech companies.
• Deep understanding of storage systems internals, including block, file, and object storage architectures.
• Familiarity with technologies such as NVMe, iSCSI, POSIX, and parallel file systems (e.g., Lustre, GPFS).
• Ability to analyze IOPS, throughput, latency, and cost per usable TB, interpreting benchmarks effectively.
• Strong expertise in at least two areas: block storage, file systems for HPC/AI, distributed storage internals, storage performance engineering, or object storage at scale.
• Proven track record in delivering complex technical initiatives requiring cross-team coordination.
• Technical leadership experience is a plus; product management experience is not required but a willingness to learn is essential.

Nice to Have

• Experience with storage for AI/ML training pipelines and large-scale HPC.
• Experience in creating technical documentation and guides for storage products.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a technically strong professional with experience in cloud storage products at hyperscalers or public cloud providers. They may come from a background in storage engineering, distributed systems, or technical leadership, with hands-on experience in building cloud storage services. Experience in ML and HPC environments is highly desirable, and the candidate should be adaptable and eager to learn new domains.
